The Carousel Lounge, Anchorage, AK (on Spenard Rd.)

About this hangout:

We’re told this is a favorite hangout for all the bikers in South Central Alaska.

General Directions:

Its on Spenard Road. If you can find Anchorage you can find Spenard Rd.

The Birchwood Saloon, Chugiak, AK

About this hangout:

Very biker friendly. Great pizza, cheese steaks and cold beer. That’s plenty of reasons to drop in right there.

General Directions:

About 20 miles north of Anchorage on the Glenn Highway, take the North Birchwood exit and you’re at the Birchwood.

Howling Dog, Fairbanks, AK

About this hangout:

This is a good place to stop for a drink. People say it’s the best place in Fairbanks for a biker.

General Directions:

The Howling Dog Saloon is located in a community named “Fox”, which is northeast of Fairbanks just off Steese highway, at the intersection of Steese and the Elliot highway.

Duggans Waterfront Pub, Homer, AK

About this hangout:

Duggans features live music on weekends. Excellent food by Greg @ the Wildside Grille includes venison & alligator. Thursday nights, steaks are ten bucks. As you might imagine, this is a great ride from June to August. You can also do it from October to March, but prepared with warm clothes. (There’s plenty of great biker wear at FrankyFashion that will have you looking good and keeping warm.)

Duggans is open every day from 9am to 3am. Local beers are popular and so are the pool tables (of course).

General Directions:

Duggans is located in Homer, Alaska, which is 220 miles south of Anchorage. Once you’re in Homer, you’ll find Duggans at the corner of Main St. and Jenny Lane, down by Bishops Beach. You’ll usually find campfires on the beach all summer long. Keep in mind, there’s 18 hours daylight here in mid June.

My band, Skelpin, which means SLAP in Galeic wants to tour alaska and play at bars that appreciate good old Irish drinking music. Any bars like that up in your area?
